Pousada Casa Nova Búzios

The breakfast was the only thing I had no complaints about. There was plenty, though not much variety. Our room was next to a neighbor's party, so sleeping was impossible. The manager promptly moved us when we asked. The new room smelled strange, the bathroom was filthy, and the bedding wasn't changed daily. We ended up buying disinfectant to use in the bathroom. I wouldn't recommend this very basic inn.

Elizângela, who likes to be called Elisa, was the bright spot. She was kind, thoughtful, helpful and warm, and did everything she could to make us comfortable. We loved her. The rest of the stay was a struggle: Sílvia couldn't find my reservation when I arrived, brushed off my request to fix a ceiling fan that vibrated badly, then left the inn for two days in RJ. Maintenance was very neglected, there weren't enough outlets, and the pool shown in the ad doesn't exist. Guests in every room complained about the awful mattresses and pillows, and not all rooms have air conditioning.

The location was good, and the shower worked well. The air conditioning cooled the room, though it was very noisy. I stayed at the beginning of December 2019, and the rest was disappointing: poor service, terrible breakfast, a rock-hard bed, and rooms and facilities that needed a lot of work.

The price was good, but the place felt neglected and smelled musty, so I don't think it was worth it. There was never anyone at reception. I stayed two nights only because I couldn't find another hotel nearby. Elizangela was very attentive and brought us better towels, but I still wouldn't recommend it.
