Hostel Catarinos Guesthouse

We’re so grateful for our stay at Catarino's. They helped us with everything from getting information to arranging transport, and when I lost my phone in a river, they went out of their way to help me get it back. My friends and I felt welcome the whole time. Thank you!

The room was clean and breakfast was nice, but there were serious problems. Our room was beside the toilet, and we could hear people on the entire floor having digestive issues day and night. The electric shower stayed cold and felt really dangerous. The AC was so noisy at night that we couldn't use it, and during the day it made noise without cooling the room. We asked to switch rooms and were told no, and that we could leave if we wanted. That had never happened to us in four months. It's also a bit far from the center.

Catarino picked me up at the bus station, which was helpful. The tourist office in Campo Grande sends people here when they ask for budget lodging in Bonito. I had a hot shower, hung up my clothes to dry, and got breakfast. It's two blocks from Main St. I like the place.

The place was clean and the breakfast buffet was really nice, but one thing made it hard for me to say anything positive. Alex, a man who is friends with the owner, made me feel very uncomfortable. Solo women should really avoid him.
