Janela de Marcia Bed and Breakfast

Breakfast on the veranda was extraordinary, with a different spread every day: fresh fruit, homemade jams and juices, bread, croissants, cakes, and eggs made in all kinds of ways. It’s hard to describe. Our spacious, very clean room had a small terrace facing the lovely garden and its large pool. The area was quiet and felt safe, with a good location for exploring the island. Marcia gave us great ideas for excursions and restaurants, and we enjoyed chatting with her. She’s a fantastic host, and we felt welcome and at home at Janela de Marcia B&B. It’s hard to imagine finding another place this warmhearted.

The gardens and Marcia’s sweet Great Dane were highlights, along with the cozy suite and fantastic breakfasts. Marcia has made the place warm, welcoming, and comfortable, and she was easily the best part of our time in Floripa. This was the best bed and breakfast stay I’ve ever had, more like a boutique hotel than a typical B&B. We had a wonderful time at Janela De Marcia bed and breakfast, and I’d highly recommend it.

The room was attractive and comfortable, opening onto the pool area, with several different places to sit and relax. The location was great too, a short walk from sights, Centro, and places to eat. We had an excellent stay in early April and will come back next time we’re in the area. Marcia was so personable. Like other reviewers, we felt we left Lagoa with a new friend. Breakfast was amazing, at least three courses plus coffee.

Marcia’s genuine hospitality made our stay stand out. She asked each morning about our plans and gave us useful advice on nearby beaches, sights, restaurants, and shopping, including what to see and what to skip. Breakfast each day included fresh juice, local fruit, pastries, and eggs prepared in different ways with local specialties. She also arranged laundry and booked a local masseuse, who worked in a dedicated room on the property for a reasonable fee. We stayed in early March 2025 at Janela de Marcia Bed and Breakfast, in a quiet residential neighborhood. The spacious private home has a walled garden, patio, and pristine pool, a peaceful place to return to after nearby beaches. It’s about a 15-minute walk to Lagoa shopping center and the waterfront, so local attractions were easy to reach while the neighborhood remained restful. Our large, air-conditioned private room had an ensuite bathroom and was in a semi-detached row beside the main house. We had privacy while remaining close to the shared kitchen, dining area, and lounge and games room. The fast fiber internet was a nice bonus. My wife and I will treasure this comfortable, convenient stay.
