I lived at this hostel for four months. During the pandemic it operated like a boarding house because it was having financial difficulties. There was a serious rat problem: they chewed through food stored in the pantry, which was kept locked with a padlock. Once, the manager reimbursed me for what I lost, but I had to throw away a lot of food.

I felt right at home during my stay. The old mansion has been fully restored and sits in a special part of the historic center, Largo da Palma. The manager, dona Silvia, was wonderful and did everything she could to make me comfortable. I highly recommend it.

It's a nice hostel in a renovated old mansion, and the simple breakfast was tasty. The downside is the late-night rule: if you're out after 1 a.m., you can't come back in until 5 a.m.

The place is really cute, and Dona Silva was incredibly welcoming. We only stayed one night, but it was great. Everything was clean, and breakfast was delicious. She makes a wonderful mango juice!

A clean, organized place with a warm welcome and a good location. The Elevador Lacerda and Pelourinho are only a few blocks away. Well worth it.
