Bhutan Residence

Mr Dorji, the owner, was friendly and helpful, and we had no complaints during our night at the hotel. It's a good budget option in phuentsoling, Bhutan, close to the bus stop. The immigration office and some good cafes are within walking distance. Just note there's no elevator, so choose a room on the 1st or 2nd floor.

Nothing worked properly, and the reception wasn't kind to customers. Our room had no water in the washroom, the WC was broken, the sink was blocked, and there was no mug or bucket. The floor felt sticky, the room wasn't clean, and the shampoo and soaps had already been used. There were no shower caps either. The plug points didn't work, the WiFi was poor, and the TV seemed to be there for show, since it didn't work. We couldn't find an AC remote, and housekeeping didn't answer calls. There's no elevator. Worst experience ever. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It doesn't deserve even half a star.

The cafeteria may suit food lovers, and that's the reason I'm giving the hotel two stars. The rooms, though, were badly managed. Our room phone didn't work, and the bedspreads were filthy. When we asked for clean ones, they handed us replacements to put on ourselves. Great hospitality, right? The room spray was with housekeeping, but nobody was there when we arrived, so they couldn't help. The bathroom basin and toilet bowls were broken and only patched up somehow. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The rooms are decent, but the hotel seems to have far too few staff. Housekeeping and cleanliness fell short, and most things on the menu weren't available. Someone entered our room while we were away, so it didn't feel secure.
