The heaters made a real difference in the cold, even in the bathrooms. Our room was modern and well kept, and the hills around the property made for lovely views. Food was delicious with plenty of choice. The team were humble, courteous, and seemed to care about our comfort, from quick service to the warm welcome at the restaurant. We felt looked after from check-in onward. Lemon Tree Thimphu is outside town, and for us it was a comfortable place to come back to during our Bhutan trip. The stay became one of its highlights.

Housekeeping kept responding whenever we needed help, even after midnight, and the dining staff were polite. The food was delicious. It was a good stay, though the room heaters let us down and kept it from being better.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the room was clean with simple, uncluttered decor. The setting is quiet and peaceful with nice valley views, though the road in is winding.

It’s a calm place on a forested hillside, good for relaxing, focusing, family trips, or business travel. The rooms are good, with heaters in both the bedroom and toilet; there’s no AC or fan, but the weather is comfortable without them. Bring jackets because it gets cold. Golf carts are available to move around, and there’s a wheelchair accessible entrance. Food choices include mostly Indian dishes. Booking a room with breakfast and meals may offer the best deal. Thimphu market is about 15 minutes away, while Paro international airport is 1 to 2 hours by car depending on the time of day. Arrange a taxi ahead for local travel, since app based taxis aren’t available. You can pay with cash, credit or debit card, or UPI. Enable international roaming for UPI before using it.
