Centennial Cottages

It was really unsettling to find European Earwigs in my bed and among my bags and clothes, so I had to shake everything out before getting dressed. They were mostly in the bathroom and kitchen, and even though the owner was spraying the property, there were still a lot of them.

We'd definitely come back. The owners looked after the place every day, and each cottage has its own campfire and BBQ, plus there's a pool and hot tub. The beds were a bit uncomfortable, but this was still one of the best cottages my family has stayed at. We were here for about five days.

The beautiful island of PEI was the only thing that kept our six-night holiday from being a disgrace. Our stay at Centennial Cottages was horrid, and with places full during the busy summer season, we had to stick it out. We spent about 90% of our days touring and came back mostly to sleep, though the beds were awful and we wouldn't risk sleeping under the blankets. There were ants everywhere. Nobody asked if things were okay or whether we needed garbage bags, and the bins weren't emptied. Wildlife ripped through the garbage, which we had to clean up ourselves. There was hardly any room to store groceries for a week, and just one small frying pan for six people. We were given only one roll of toilet paper for six, and towels and other things could only be refreshed every other day. The cabins are badly run down and need many repairs. Bathroom tiles were cracked, the floor tiles moved, doors wouldn't close, and the curtains were filthy. Some gaps between the walls were about one to two inches. The pool was not maintained, and the hot tub was disgraceful. We ended up cleaning for two hours. We had to ask for a cleaner, bucket and rag, and the water was black after I mopped the floors.

Paul, the owner and manager, was great. These are nice little two-bedroom cottages, each with its own BBQ and fire pit, and there's also a shared outdoor pool and hot tub. We booked directly with Centennial cottages.
