The 24-hour communal kitchen was really helpful, and there’s a shared living room with foosball and a TV. The rooms are good and have air conditioning. Nice spot to stay, and I’d definitely come back.

There’s a lot wrong here, and I could go on. The common spaces have been reading 28° C on every thermometer we’ve checked. It’s HOT, and there’s no AC in the building. We’ve had to sleep with the doors open for air, then woke up to condensation dripping on the windows. Our guestmate also pointed out that the gutters were clogged and overflowing onto the patios. It’s day 4 and nobody has come to clean or check on the room. We arrived to half a roll of toilet paper, so we bought our own. Parking hasn’t been enough any night so far. This feels like a hostel, which we weren’t expecting. It’s like we rented someone’s room for a week, and we won’t be coming back. The location is great and very central, but the place isn’t well maintained. Lots of the furnishings still have price tags on them. The fan in our room is loud and swaying precariously from the ceiling, making it hard to sleep, and the lamps are broken. The communal kitchen appliances are dirty, with no usual supplies like paper towels or even clean towels for drying dishes.

The room didn’t have an air conditioner or blackout curtains. I’d booked a room with a private bathroom, but none were available when I arrived. We couldn’t switch hotels because of the time, so we had no choice but to stay. The staff didn’t try to sort it out. This is definitely a hostel, and not a commendable one. A disappointing experience.

Check-in, check-out, and all communication with reception were handled by text, which was easy, simple, and quick. People respected the quiet after 11 pm, and the shared kitchen had all the basic tools and equipment needed to prepare food. The location is excellent, within walking distance of Carleton sur mer’s main highlights, with the sea across the street. The rooms were clean. There’s no AC, though it didn’t get hot during our stay. The bed was a little small, a double rather than a queen. They could improve the blackout curtains and soundproofing in the walls. Very good aparthotel.
