We've stayed at Highlands Motel many times over the years, in every season, after trying other places nearby. We keep choosing it because it's clean, comfortable and well appointed. The owners are friendly and helpful whenever we've needed assistance, which has happened on several occasions over the years. It's a great base for exploring this attractive, photogenic area. There's a restaurant within walking distance, more in Carnarvon and Minden, plus two supermarkets and a superb Thai restaurant in Minden. Haliburton is nearby too. Ask the locals about the many beautiful spots around here.

Beautiful, serene property, and very well kept. The service is top notch. I stayed here while working in the area for a week in mid October, and I'll look to book again on summer adventures or when I'm out on my motorcycle. Highly recommend.

We called late in the evening for a room at very short notice, arrived within an hour, and found it ready and spotless. The service was excellent. They told us about local restaurants and offered snowmobile directions so we could get where we needed to go. Definitely recommend, 10/10.

The building was well maintained and the room was clean. Seeing a wild turkey was a nice bonus.

It was cold outside, but the cabin stayed lovely and warm, and smelled of pine inside. The owner was attentive and caring, and the surroundings were beautiful. Inside, it was comfortable and cozy, with everything we needed and a lovely surprise, an electric fireplace. I really enjoyed my peaceful weekend there and would definitely return.
