Days Inn Cranbrook

After a ten-hour drive, this was a perfect stop. The staff were so welcoming, and I even ate at the attached restaurant, which I’d recommend. The outside might put you off, but inside the rooms are modern, clean, and really comfortable. Having a balcony where my dog could hang out was a real treat. My first stay here, and it’s now my go-to hotel when driving up from the States.

The staff were fantastic, and the beds were comfortable, but I couldn’t sleep because of the strong curry smell. It was in my first-floor room at night, even though the lobby didn’t smell the next day. The hotel was full, so staff couldn’t move me. I just can’t sleep around a strong food smell, no matter how good the food might be. The showerheads were also so low that you have to crouch to wash your hair, though that was minor compared with the smell.

The whole hotel, including our room, was exceptionally clean, and the price was very competitive. Breakfast was the best we’ve had on our travels, with plenty of hot food, fresh fruit, pancakes, and omelets made to order. Everyone on staff was friendly. I’d definitely recommend it.

Breakfast was great, especially the omelet station, and the staff were very friendly. Our room was clean, and the location is right on the main road. We had a great stay overall. My one complaint: we booked a queen room, but the bed was clearly a double.
