My three-year-old had a blast in the warm pool, and the indoor atrium with palm trees felt like a tropical escape during winter. The pool area staff were attentive, and the water was toddler-friendly, though the slide was a bit much for him. The atrium can get very humid and loud, but it's a nice place to spend time with little kids. The rooms and decor feel like they haven't been updated since the 90s. They weren't dirty, but they seemed old and stale, and the carpets and furniture need work. We ate at Shelly’s Tap & Grill. The food was standard pub fare, just okay, and service was slow, which was hard with a hungry toddler after two hours in the pool. It's expensive for an older hotel, and it feels like the price is mostly for access to the indoor pool. My kid loved it, but I expected more modern comfort for the money. I'd call it a solid three-star stay, good for a one-time visit or a rainy day, but I'm not rushing back before renovations.
The first-floor ice machine seems to be broken all the time, so guests have to go up to the third floor for ice. There isn't one on the second floor. They now have security patrolling the parking lot to monitor the cars, which is a nice added feature. The rooms have had a major renovation and look beautiful and clean. The TVs are brand new smart TVs, so you can log into Netflix if you have an account. That's handy when travelling with kids, staying in the room longer, or just wanting to relax with a movie at night. I would avoid the restaurant, though. The food has always been below average for an expensive price, and that hasn't changed. During our most recent stay in February 2026, the pool area was undergoing a major renovation and the restaurant only offered buffet service. Breakfast wasn't worth $15.99. The choices shrank each day, there was no milk for cereal, the yogurt was expired, and the bacon and sausage were undercooked. They need to replace the cook.
On checkout day, Tuesday, January 20, I showered at 9 am and planned to stay until the 11 am checkout time. After drying off in the shower room, I walked into the hallway. Our hotel door suddenly opened and a housekeeper came into the room. I had nothing to cover myself with, so I ran across to the sink and mirror area for a towel. The staff member was still there. When I told her I was still using the room, she asked when I was leaving, as though I'd overstayed, then stood there briefly and left. I rushed to pack and get dressed, then reported it to the front desk and a manager in his office. Both said they took it seriously, but neither called or even apologized. A large conference was setting up downstairs, so housekeeping seemed to be rushing to turn the rooms over. That shouldn't mean I get forced out and humiliated while naked in a room that was supposed to be private. I'll never stay here again, and I'll tell anyone considering it what happened. With so many families using the waterpark, I'm concerned about children being exposed by staff acting in such a hurry. I waited almost three weeks to post because the hotel manager and front desk manager said they'd call us about the issue, but they never did. The room and hotel itself were fine. Parking was difficult with so many families and teams, though we made it work. The rooms are old-fashioned, and the hallways were loud with all the families. We hadn't known it was a waterpark hotel, since a clinic booked it for us. The shower water was scalding hot, but the bathtub wouldn't get warmer than room temperature. The heater was extremely loud and woke us frequently. Kids and drunk parents were in the hallways well after 10 pm, and we couldn't find any staff to help, so we put towels at the bottom of the door to dampen the noise.
Our kids were thrilled, and we had a great first stay here. The rooms were clean, and the water park was spacious, clean, and well maintained. It's a lovely place to spend time with children, and we'd highly recommend it. Having a restaurant in the hotel was convenient too. We'll definitely come back during summer break.
We just left after a really nice mini vacation. The pool was fun, though I wish the slide stayed open until closing on Sundays as it does on Fridays and Saturdays. Shelley's restaurant was very good and had lots of choices. The hotel is also well located for other restaurants if you want something it doesn't offer. Our room was dated, but they're working on that, and some rooms have already been renovated.
