Knights Inn Angus

We didn’t get in until midnight and asked to check out later. They said noon was fine, but called at 11 asking if we wanted another night, then rang again at 11:55 to ask if we were leaving. I said it was five to and we were heading out. The place was empty, so I’m guessing that says something about their hospitality. The room cost a lot for what we got, including an extra $70 for the Jacuzzi. Filling the tub took 25 minutes, and most of its controls were broken off.

It’s a basic, convenient hotel, not a fancy-smanchy one. Crabby Joes is right across the street, with a gas station and convenience store to the left. Tim Hortons, Pizza Pizza, and other places are a 5-10 minute walk to the right. Our Queen Bed Room, room 107, was clean and cozy. The bed felt a bit too firm to me, though my fiancé loved it. Customer service was quick and friendly. It used to be Knights Inn and is now Borden Inn and Suites. I’d recommend it, and would stay here again if I needed a room in town.

The room was at least clean, but the renovations were poor and it absolutely reeked of smoke despite being a non-smoking room. There was hardly ever anyone in the office.

Our reservation had been lost, even though someone had taken our credit card number over the phone. The manager was rude and no help, and the receptionist hung up on us. I wouldn’t recommend Knights Inn in Angus.
