The room was warm enough despite it being almost -30 overnight, but I couldn't bring myself to sleep on top of the stained bedding. My boyfriend and I stayed over the covers. If you want a cheap room that's actually clean, I'd pay the extra $10-20 and go to the motel 6 next door. I've stayed there before and should have gone back. The bed did seem free of bed bugs, but it had hair and stains on every layer, some looking like blood. The sheets were crusty, and the bed looked closer to a double/full than the advertised queen. The room looked like it hadn't been cleaned for the last three guests. The toilet and sink were mostly wiped down, but we skipped the shower. We had to peel open the fridge, and whatever sticky stuff was inside looked like it'd been there for months.

Check-in staff were incredibly prompt and polite. The room, though, felt grimy, and it smelled of stale cigarettes. There was even a cigarette burn on the comforter. The bathroom looked clean, but with everything so dingy, I couldn't trust that it really was, so I wore shower shoes. There was a note asking guests to put used toilet paper in the trash can. Gross. You barely get what you pay for here, and the hotel is in total disrepair.

The rooms are dated, but clean enough, and the person at the front desk was really kind. We just needed an affordable place for one night, and this worked for us. The service was fantastic even if the motel isn't fancy. People mention smells or questionable guests, but if I'm not mistaken, this is the cheapest motel in Fort Nelson. If you want something nicer, you'll have to pay more for a better hotel in town.

I cycled 300km from Liard Hot Springs that day and was pretty exhausted. The staff were welcoming, and they even did laundry late that night. Really grateful for all their help. Lovely people and place.

The owners were so kind during my one-night stay, and the room was huge for the price. They even took care of my laundry. I'd happily stay again.
