This motel works well as a stop on a long drive, but I probably wouldn’t stay more than a day or two. The bathrooms are nice, though not very spacious, and each room has its own AC control, which helped me sleep on hot nights. Staff were friendly and service was good. Most of the furniture is dated, and the older TVs whine when they’re on, though that wasn’t a huge inconvenience. The rooms are decent and comfortable enough. Rates felt a little high for what you get, but it covers the basics.

It’s not fancy, but the price is worth it if you just need a room for a night or a weekend. Longer stays are available too, at a really good rate. You can pay cash, debit, or credit. Smoking rooms don’t require a deposit, while non-smoking rooms do. Not a bad option for a simple place to sleep.

It’s a basic old-school motel, tidy and reasonably clean. The rooms are all on the ground floor, each with a small step up, and there’s one wheelchair-accessible room. We found the bed very comfortable, but there weren’t any extra blankets, so ask for one or bring one if you tend to get cold. It’s easy to reach and close to downtown and the uptown grill, which has a fantastic breakfast. The motel was renovated a few years ago, so the old pictures are out of date and don’t reflect it anymore.

For what they charged, this was totally unacceptable. The carpet was so filthy that my socks turned black when I took my shoes off. One bed leg was broken, leaving the mattress slanted to one side. After washing my hands in the bathroom sink, I came back to find water all over the floor. The desk already knew about the leak, with a towel wrapped around the pipe. When I reported it, they just handed me a pile of towels for the floor and weren’t apologetic. I had to wash my hands in the bathtub during covid, standing on wet towels.

For a good price, it’s a place to sleep that’s at least clean, though the motel as a whole could be better maintained. You get what you pay for. Just don’t arrive expecting a fancy hotel.
