Super 8 Kamloops

The room was very clean and nicely updated, and the price was fair. The front desk staff were great. The bathroom still feels old, though, and there was very little soap, shampoo, and the like. I’d stay here again.

The breakfast was adequate, with waffles, eggs, fruit cups, yogurt, and other carb options. The coffee was very good for a hotel, and the breakfast attendant worked hard to keep everything stocked. Our room had everything we needed, including comfortable beds, a clean bathroom, fast internet, and a good TV. The staff were incredibly friendly and hardworking, and the location felt safe. One of the best Super 8 locations we’ve visited. Can’t go wrong here.

There’s plenty of free parking, and the price is hard to beat for what you get. The location is handy right off the highway, beside Dairy Queen, with some seating out front. Staff were constantly cleaning and keeping the buffet dishes filled. I liked that the buffet was on its own level instead of mixed into the lobby. The beds were comfortable and the rooms a good size, though the washrooms are smaller. Staff also suggested Cora's for breakfast and Edo Japan, and showed us how to get 10% off with our hotel key card. It felt like a safe location.

The room smelled awful, and so did the beds. The front desk offered to spray the carpets again, turned up the heat, and opened the windows, but none of that helped. They had no other rooms to move us to, and I can’t say the other rooms smelled much better. I suspect this might be a pet-friendly hotel because there was a musty, wet-fur smell, and the carpets are very old. Breakfast was disappointing too. The options were cereal, waffles, toast, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, and packaged oatmeal. As a Stay and Play hotel, I really wouldn’t recommend it if you can avoid it.
