I wouldn’t recommend this place. It was disgustingly dirty, with cobwebs in the windows that looked like they’d been there for years. Several things were broken, and when we raised it with the manager, we were accused of breaking them and told to leave. The owner was dismissive about basic problems. The bed was half broken, so we went to RONA to deal with it, but weren’t compensated. We’d paid a cleaning fee, yet the cleaning we received was the sort of thing that should have been done before we arrived, and we shouldn’t have had to pay extra. It took over a week for them to fix issues. The owner bragged about how much money he makes in summer. My partner and I both felt tired and ill almost the whole time, and I wonder if there may have been something in the walls, perhaps mould. The manager and owner both had arrogant attitudes. They seem to care only about money and very little about guests. Beware!

The room felt like a tiny, dirty frat house apartment, with filthy carpets and ripped furniture. The hallway carpets were stained and grimy too, and there was no atmosphere. They advertise kitchens, but ours was just hotplates and toasters crammed into a cupboard with no room to pull them out and use them. There wasn’t a proper kitchen sink, so we had to use the bathroom for water and washing dishes, without any dish soap. The only good part was Shadine at the front desk, who was lovely. Natasha, the manager, provided very poor service.

Parking was the biggest headache. Even with a pass, you have to park on the street, and the few dedicated spots are always taken. If you have mobility issues, driving around a packed block looking for somewhere to leave the car, then walking back to your accommodation, is a real problem. There’s no proper sink for dishes, so after cooking I had to wash them in the bathroom, which didn’t feel hygienic. I also found a dirty hot plate and washed everything before and after using it because I wasn’t sure it was clean, despite being charged a $100 cleaning fee for a two-night stay. The toilet was far too low for me; I haven’t seen one that low in years. Checking out at 10 a.m. was inconvenient too.

The front desk was amazing. I’ve never been asked at checkout whether they could have done anything more to improve our stay. For the price, it was over the top, and we’ll be back. We booked the two-story loft; it was advertised with a king bed, but it turned out to be a queen. No big deal.
