Lord Nelson Motel

After more than 35 years of staying in motels, this is easily the best one I've been to. The room and bathroom were lovely, and the fridge and freezer were great. Everything else was nice too, from the TV to the linens and pillows. It was also the most affordable motel around. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely be back. I don't think anyone would be disappointed.

Our check-in was quick and easy, the bed was comfortable, and the motel was quiet and conveniently located. The bathroom, though, was quite dirty. I suspect housekeeping restocked the room and got interrupted, since the room itself was clean, but there was still garbage in the bathroom bin, lots of hair in the tub, and recent feces in the toilet bowl. We arrived late in the evening, so I didn't ask them to clean it or move us. If we hadn't checked in so late, I would have. I could still see giving the motel another chance if we stop over in kingston again.

We were caught in nasty winter weather and took a random freeway exit, where we found the motel. It was very clean and well maintained, with a gas station and an A&W about 300 meters away. It was nearly 10 pm and reception was closed, but the woman came right over when I rang the bell. About five minutes later, we had our room key.

We arrived pretty late, but check-in was simple and quick. The staff were kind and friendly, especially the woman at the front desk. The room was cute, cozy, clean, and organized, with extra supplies and a balcony for some fresh air. Checkout was fast and easy as well. The location was handy, beside a gas station and an A&W. I'd definitely come back next time we visit Kingston. Highly recommend it!
