Quality Inn & Conference Centre Kingston Central

We coordinated three events at the Quality Inn, and the staff's warmth, attention, and willingness to help were the best part of the experience. The ballroom is large, has lots of mirrors, and comes with the essentials couples need for a wedding, including a fantastic catering team. The hotel has changed brands several times over the past 8 years and continues to renovate and improve the main hotel's look and feel. We're grateful for the staff's kindness and effort in helping everything run smoothly on each wedding day. This review is about the wedding venue only, not the rooms.

The conference stay was great value for the price, and the food and staff were great. Everyone was friendly and professional. It could be noisy, though: you could hear a lot through the walls, and my door shook a little whenever someone shut theirs. A children's hockey team was staying there too, and the kids ran around in groups everywhere. Kids will be kids :) It gave the place a bit of a conference feel, and it didn't bother me since I always pack earplugs. If peace and quiet is what you're after, this may not be the hotel for you. I'd definitely stay again next time I'm in Kingston. Dennys next door was good, with equally great food and friendly staff, and without the usual high hotel restaurant prices.

The woman cleaned up the old dog feces in the corner and sprayed Febreze there, then assured us the beds were clean and had no bugs. She refunded just $20 of the $110 I paid for one night and blamed the mess on not having enough staff to clean. She said they were fully booked and had no other rooms, though she'd check. It was already close to midnight, and we were never moved. We'd arrived Friday night exhausted after an 8-hour drive. The room looked nothing like the pictures and smelled of urine and mold. There was dirt, food, and dust in every corner, mold on the bathroom ceiling, and dark food splatters on the lamps. I was honestly scared to sleep in the bed. I've stayed in some rough Motel 6s when I had to, but never anywhere this bad. I could have paid $50 more for a nice Holiday Inn nearby and been able to breathe fresh air and sleep.

The building feels like a dump: it's extremely dirty and outdated, with worn, dirty carpet and cracked, flaking ceilings in the room. The bathroom is very small, has no shelving or storage, and has mold on the ceiling. There are very few outlets. At night, one of the back doors couldn't be used because a homeless person was sleeping there. This is a part of town with some unsavory characters.
