The setting is beautiful, and the food was very good, with plates presented nicely. We had seafood pasta and beef cheeks. The service was disappointing, especially for the prices and dishes on offer. There are better places to eat, though I’m sharing photos of our plates.

I’d heard good things about the food and service and was excited to try the place, but I feel like leaving now. Our server was ill and coughing. The cod fritters came in a thick, gummy mango sauce, and the mussels were sitting in very salty water with no hint of white wine or shallots. The salt stung my lips, and there was no way to soak up the liquid. The grilled Caesar was mostly mayo-heavy dressing with so little lettuce that I couldn’t taste it. I haven’t even tried the $48 seafood linguine yet. Our hotel restaurant “Accents” was much better in presentation, service, and food quality.

The staff are the standout, so kind and accommodating. The rooms are beautifully maintained, and the spot over the water is picturesque. The restaurant has a great location and view, too. Can’t wait to return!

We picked this hotel for a one-night stop on the way to Newfoundland because it’s close to the airport, and I wish we’d stayed longer. The room and views were beautiful, and the restaurant was top notch. I’ll return to îles de la madeleine someday and wouldn’t hesitate to book here again.

We stayed four nights in this converted convent, a small hotel with 11 rooms. The renovation was well done: modern room facilities were added while the building’s heritage features were preserved and displayed. There’s no elevator, but the staff gladly carried our suitcases upstairs. The rooms are spacious, with excellent bathrooms and showers, and the hotel is only five minutes from the airport. It overlooks the sea with nice views and has an adjoining restaurant. The cheerful, friendly staff were always ready to answer questions. Most of all, it’s a relaxing place to stay. We had a good experience and would return.
