Maple Glen Motel

Update 2: There was a problem with the room I was given, but they promptly moved me to another one. For the price and friendly management, it’s a great place to stay when you’re passing through. Update: My latest room was shockingly bad. There was garbage in the drawers, debris under the dresser, a toilet that didn’t flush properly, barely any toilet paper and no spare roll. They also didn’t give me the Wi-Fi password. Original: I often visit London and had found my preferred place for the night, with great rates. Smoking rooms are available, and the TV, cable, and free Wi-Fi all worked, unlike at Knight's Inn. The owner at reception was kind, informative, and helpful. The fridge was unplugged, so it took a while to get cold enough, but I didn’t mind too much.

My husband and I had a bad stay here. After 14 hours on a plane and another two hours in the car, I’d hoped we could rest on our first day in Canada. Instead, the service was very bad. We arrived at 4:30am and thought checkout was at 11am, but at 6am an Indian woman knocked on our door and told us we had to leave. We were exhausted and didn’t have anywhere else to stay yet. We asked if we could extend a little and offered to pay extra, but they refused. So after breakfast we had to leave. It was such a sad start to our first day here. We paid, but the service was awful. I don’t know if they were racist or not.

Fanshawe arranged for me to stay here for a day and a half. The bathroom was clean, but the room and bed smelled of cigarette smoke. It’s an okay-ish motel for a temporary one-night stay, but I wouldn’t want to stay longer. Ask for a non-smoking room. I was terribly disappointed that Fanshawe arranged such a poor-quality motel.
