Motel 6 London, ON - Ontario

I needed somewhere to stay while I looked for an apartment, and spent a month at the Motel 6 on Exeter Road. The rates were affordable, the rooms were great, housekeeping was good, and the front desk staff were friendly. They had free coffee, and it never ran out. I really enjoyed my time there.

The staff were the best part of my stay. They were kind, helpful, and understanding. The hotel is run down, and the rooms are cheap. You get what you pay for, and it seems like some people live there. The carpets were very dirty, but the sheets were clean. The rooms were clean too, just very worn and abused. The beds were comfortable and the heat worked.

Things went badly from the first moment. I’d booked online, then asked the front desk for advice because I wasn’t sure whether I’d stay a second night or what to do. They weren’t communicative and talked me into cancelling the online booking and booking directly with them instead. It cost me more, and they brushed it off by saying the difference wasn’t much. They didn’t need to do that in the first place. The elevator wasn’t working and the second one was closed. One of the front desk employees had to press some buttons every time we needed to go up. Our room was really cold, and they said there was nothing they could do. I had to ask twice for extra blankets. Do yourself a favour and find somewhere else.

The place is dirty and run down, with scratches everywhere and no sign of maintenance for ages. The carpet was disgusting, there was no TV remote in the room, and the toilet was clogged. I’ll never stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
