Motor court Motel

I needed about four nights in a reasonably priced hotel in a particular part of London, Ontario, and picked this place for the first night. The bed was comfortable and the bathtub was huge, two things I often find missing in places I’ve stayed. I enjoyed them each night. After being satisfied with the first two nights, I decided to stay all four. I’d recommend it to anyone looking in or near the Argyle Mall area, or wanting somewhere not too far from downtown.

There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and Walmart is right there if you’ve forgotten something. The staff have always been warm and helpful, and our room has been clean every time we’ve stayed. Some people live on the property, but they’re quiet and friendly.

We needed a place to crash after a concert, and the bed was cozy. The fan was quiet enough to leave running all night. We also enjoyed a soak in the jacuzzi tub. The rooms and decor feel very old-fashioned, and there’s a lingering smoke smell, but things were fine overall.

The smell hit us as soon as we entered the room we’d booked as non-smoking. I have asthma, so I went straight to the desk to explain that I couldn’t stay in a room that reeked of cigarettes. We hadn’t used or stayed in the room, but the owner refused a refund and said they “didn’t want to lose the business.” We left right away and booked another hotel. That response to a health concern was completely unacceptable. The room was filthy and worn out, with visible chunks of mold in the bathtub. Everything felt neglected, and the heavy smoke odor made the place uncomfortable and unsettling. The customer service was terrible, the cleanliness poor, and the way this obvious problem was handled felt dishonest. I absolutely would not recommend staying here. I also read earlier reviews after the incident. It seems this has come up before, so the owner is clearly aware of it. Other guests say the cigarette smell was so strong that it took a long time to get the odor out of their clothes and belongings. Several reviews also mention bed bug concerns, which is extremely alarming.
