Clarion Pointe

The water slide was great for the kids, and there was a nice spot for parents to gather. I also liked how fluffy the towels were. But I wouldn’t return. We found a tropical sized bug on our towels the first night, there were old socks left under a bench, and the rooms weren’t very clean. The bathtub drained poorly, and after asking twice to have it unclogged, either it wasn’t done or the plumbing is just terrible. Either way, you’re standing in your own filth. The rooms were also warmer than we wanted, with no way to adjust the temperature.

The kids spent 7.5 hours swimming, and it still wasn’t busy. Breakfast buffet was included and wonderful, and the staff were just as polite. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

The first room was dirty, with dried toothpaste on the bathroom floor, dirt and crumbs behind the end tables and TV stand, something that looked like a condom wrapper beside the bed, and mouse droppings on the carpet. The heat didn’t work either, and it was 8 degrees. The front desk helped move us, but in the second room none of the lights worked. The third room was cleaner and had working lights and heat. The lobby looked bright, clean, and recently remodeled, which gave me false hopes about the room. I expected dated furnishings at a budget hotel, but I’ve never had this kind of situation before. Don’t stay here.

The hotel was basic, but comfortable enough for our one night and met our needs. What really made the stay better was the friendly, welcoming service from Tanya at the front desk and the breakfast server. Breakfast was great too.
