The breakfasts were so good that people at work are still talking about them. Thanks to Kathy and Krit for such lovely service, and to all the staff I met for being warm and kind. I was there for two weeks and had a really positive stay, even though I don't travel much. I'd happily stay at this location again.

Kathy put out a delicious breakfast with lots to choose from, including gluten-free options. She was friendly, and the area was spotless. After a 19-day trip from Victoria back to Manitoba with stays at several hotels, this was easily our favorite. The reception team were very pleasant, and the roomy lobby could have handled plenty of check-ins. Thanks, Medicine Hat Holiday Inn.
The pool and water slide were a hit with our family, and there was plenty of space. We also liked having coffee available through the day, and the included breakfast had a good selection and quality. The rooms felt modern and updated. With Walmart nearby for snacks and water, plus Highway 1, the main mall, restaurants, and other amenities close by, the location worked well for us. Most of all, the staff made us feel welcome. During our family stay in February 2026, we had a small issue and Charmaine at the front desk handled it quickly, went out of her way to resolve it, and checked back to make sure we were happy. In all our years of hotel stays, she may be the best manager and team member we've dealt with. That kind of guest service really can change someone's visit. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.
Breakfast was good, though real cutlery would be better than disposable wooden ones. Check-in itself was quick and easy. The elevator had a strong ammonia smell, and my room felt dingy. Some wall stains, mismatched light colors, a broken desk lamp, and old paint made everything seem dated. It was generally clean, but there was garbage left on the bathroom floor. Fine for one night, but I wouldn't want to spend much time here.
Room 312 was a welcome, comfortable place to land after driving 3,150 km. It had the clean, spacious, practical layout and large, modern, well-stocked bathroom I expect from Holiday Inn, and the breakfast area was well looked after with a big range of food. The staff were professional and dedicated. We stayed one night while crossing Canada, and the main drawback was the hallways and shared areas. The air conditioning had failed, making it unpleasant to leave the room.
