Spark by Hilton Toronto Mississauga

The breakfast was simple, fresh, and tasty, and I liked that it didn't leave me overeating. The staff were hands on, attentive with the tables, and quick to refill things as they ran out. I haven't seen that kind of dedication to the guest experience at a buffet in a while. We left feeling refreshed and in good spirits, ready to watch more curling at the athletic centre nearby. We were in town for curling this week, and the communication before arrival was excellent. It helped us choose the right room. The digital key worked when we arrived, which was great. Our room felt spacious and fresh, with no carpet, a smart choice in winter and really at any time. The app controls for the TV were cool, and everything in the room was clean. It was clear the hotel had been recently renovated. Thanks for taking such good care of us. I'm sure we'll be back.

The main drawback was breakfast. There was no hot food, just bagels, boiled eggs, cereal, yoghurt, and sometimes a few apples, bananas, and oranges. There wasn't any bread available either. That said, Alicia from the breakfast staff was friendly and greeted me with a smile each morning, which brightened my day. Arman was courteous, diligent, and friendly, and always available to help. Prithwi gave us a warm, outstanding check-in and went out of his way to make adjustments so our food would stay well preserved. Both were polite, helpful, and smiling, and made our stay comfortable. Their service was commendable, and we'll definitely stay again because of the welcoming staff. I highly recommend the hotel.

My brother and his wife never stayed at the hotel, but they were still charged, and when we asked for a refund, we were told nothing could be done. I followed up myself and got the same answer. That's especially disappointing as someone who works for Hilton and understands the level of service expected from the brand. I hope management takes this seriously, improves staff training, and handles guest issues better. I booked a room for them at Spark by Hilton under the Friends & Family program for April 8th. My brother arrived late at night after a long flight and found that his name hadn't been properly added to the reservation. Mistakes happen, but the way the situation was handled was unacceptable. The front desk staff member, Navneet, was reportedly rude and uncooperative, and didn't try to help. My brother even offered to pay the full rate instead of using the discount so they could check in and rest. They were left waiting nearly an hour with no solution or management support, then had to leave in the middle of the night and find another place to stay. After an exhausting journey, that's the last thing a guest should have to deal with.

It's a basic, decent hotel beside the highway at a reasonable price. The staff were polite, and breakfast covered the basics. I had a peaceful night. I also wanted to thank you for giving me a warm shower, which I couldn't get at your Hilton neighbor across the highway the night before.
