Abdullah greeted me warmly and offered help right from the start. His welcome made me feel relieved and cared for, and it was comforting to be treated kindly with my service dog rather than as an outsider. I’ve unfortunately had experiences at other establishments where people greeted us angrily and demanded to see my service dog registration. I’m grateful to Abdullah for his hospitality. The rest of my stay was peaceful. The spacious rooms felt elevated, likely because of recent renovations, and the hotel manager handled matters with professionalism, poise, and diligence. The hotel is competitively priced and conveniently located near the village, a short walk from the old port. Thanks for accommodating me and my service dog. We appreciated the attention to detail and would consider returning if we need a place to stay in the future.

The price makes sense for a short stay, especially since you probably won't spend much time in the room. Staff interactions were quick and smooth. The hotel sits on a quieter corner off a busy street, with Starbucks and Mcdonald’s nearby and plenty of restaurants a few blocks away. The surrounding area gets lively at night. Parking was the biggest hassle: there’s no private lot, and the street spaces were full. We had to use the Marriott garage and carry our luggage about a block back. In the room, sound carries easily. I could hear the girls across the hall singing along to Pitch Perfect. Some rooms have a full-size fridge and microwave with plenty of counter space, while others only have a mini fridge. The sink is small, with little bottles of shampoo and body wash underneath. There are very few other amenities, not even tissues, and we usually kept the blinds closed because the window faced another building’s wall.

I never ended up staying here, but the way my date-change request was handled left me with a poor impression. I’d booked through Booking.com, then had an unexpected problem accessing my travel documents and needed to move the reservation to the following weekend. Booking.com said the hotel had to approve or make the change. I canceled the original booking promptly and emailed the hotel to reschedule. After several follow-ups, I still got no answer to the request. The only message I received asked me to remove my review because they hadn’t responded. I explained that service starts once a guest has paid. They kept the payment and offered neither a refund nor another arrangement. I was ready to stay the next weekend and just wanted clear communication. Another hotel on the same trip handled a similar situation professionally and made the adjustments efficiently. Here, my attempts to sort it out were repeatedly ignored. Courtesy and responsiveness matter, especially after payment, and I can’t recommend this property given the silence and the way this straightforward request was handled.

The property was well kept, the room was a decent size, and it matched its description. I thought it was good value, but the staff experience was disappointing. I arrived for a late check-in around 9 PM. A couple of hours before, I’d tried calling to let them know, with no answer. Nobody was at reception when I got there, so I waited 15-20 minutes and then checked the common areas. When someone finally appeared, he said I had “ruined the sleep” of other people and his own. I hadn’t expected that, especially when I assumed someone would be at the desk, and it felt unprofessional. The next day I raised it with another receptionist, but she barely listened and didn’t seem to take it seriously. The place has potential, though the staff need proper training. I hope the owners consider the feedback and improve their professionalism.

The room itself looked promising when I arrived: modern, renovated, bright, and mostly clean. But there was hair in the shower, sink, and on the bathroom floor. The windows were the bigger problem. Air came through, and outside noise was so loud that some kind of ventilation or equipment seemed to run all night. Without earplugs, sleeping was nearly impossible. I suspect odd-numbered rooms may be affected more, so I’d try to avoid those if you can. I was surprised by the $250 deposit for one night, almost four times the room price. Check-in late at night also felt cold and impersonal, though I hadn’t expected anything exceptional for this category. After checkout I realized I’d left a few personal things behind, and getting a meaningful response took several attempts. Checkout itself was slow too, nearly 10 minutes while I was the only person at the desk, with no clear reason. It was inexpensive, and you do get what you pay for in some ways. For just a night it may work, but check the cleaning carefully, bring earplugs, and don’t count on efficient follow-up. There may be better options in Montréal at a similar price.
