Victoria Motor Inn

The outside looked decent, but opening the door was a shock. The photos don't match the room, which hadn't been cleaned at all. The carpet was filthy, and there were peanuts and other things under the beds and behind furniture. I'd worry about anyone with a peanut allergy. There were silverfish in our bedding, the TV didn't work, and the Wi-Fi barely did. We had the double family room, but only one room had heat. The sliding balcony doors let in a terrible draft and the other room was freezing, with no heat in the bathroom either. We left the heat blasting and sweated all night trying to warm the other side. The best we got was 67 degrees. Not good with a child and infant. The door looked kicked in and let in another horrible draft. There may have been blood on the wall behind our bed and on the damaged, punched-in lampshades. There were holes in the walls too. They claim daily room service, but nobody came. Towels needed changing and garbage piled up. There was no phone, no front desk service, no microwave or stove, and no shower mat. The towels were tiny. The attached restaurant they advertise is Smoke's Poutinerie. For basically the same price, stay somewhere else and spare yourself that crawling-skin feeling.

Victoria motor inn is family-owned, and the husband and wife who are usually at the front desk are friendly and reasonable with prices. It's in a perfect location, very clean, and the nicest staff work at the desk. I have only good things to say about this place.

The bed was comfortable, and the location was good. That's about all I can say that's positive. The hotel looks old and outmoded, and the shower felt so old-fashioned I worried I might break it. There was no fridge or microwave, the towels were tiny, and the only toiletries were soap and shampoo, no conditioner or lotion. It's sad seeing the place in this condition. Whoever owns it should consider upgrading or renovating it gradually. I can find something better.

The motel's location was convenient and made our stay easier. Our bathroom toilet was loose and moved around, though, and the place could use renovations. A couple of bottles of drinking water in the room would have been a thoughtful touch. With some improvements, this could be a much better stay.
