Springmount Motel

The only good parts were the price and the helpful man at reception. I left very early the next morning, since this wasn’t somewhere I wanted to linger. Around 8:00 pm, I saw the only other two guests sitting outside their room, staring into space. It felt freaky. The room was awful and had a surreal, Twilight Zone feel. Nothing seemed clean except the bed. I checked it for bugs and didn’t find any, which was a relief. The air quality was terrible, but I was exhausted and stayed the night. All the furnishings were old, worn out, and dirty, and the motel needs a lot of repairs and paint. I wish I’d read more reviews before stopping there. I wouldn’t recommend spending the night.

The bed was hard as a rock and incredibly uncomfortable. The room was badly cleaned, with used soap left by previous guests, a filthy bathroom mat, and an unplugged fridge that smelled terrible. There were small blood stains on just about everything, including the bed skirt, shower curtain, towel, and sheets. Staff were sitting in the driveway drinking 40s and tall boys and having a very loud, inappropriate phone conversation. They didn’t know which of the seven rooms were occupied, so they had to peek into rooms. Why wasn’t that recorded in the office? This place is a dump.

I found bugs on the floor and bedbug spray in the very dirty room. After he offered me a beer and I declined, he became rude and hit on me, which made me really uncomfortable. There are people living in two of the rooms, and they get into your business as soon as they see you. I wish I could post my photos. These rooms aren’t worth even $5 a night, and I’m afraid you’ll get bedbugs. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The price might be the best around, but I’d pay a little more for a better stay. The place wasn’t very clean, and the room we were first offered had no key and had been left unlocked. When I asked how I was supposed to secure it while we went to the store with my expensive laptop and other things inside, he said there was no need because nobody goes there. Only after I said that was unacceptable and asked for my money back did he offer another room with a key. I was able to get my money back and left for a better motel.
