Davidson Motel

Clean enough for a night’s sleep after a long day, and good value. It’s economical, just not a particularly glamorous place.

The staff were really nice and made me feel welcome. For what it costs, it’s hard to do better. Highly recommended!!

The staff were very nice and waived the deposit, but that was about where the good parts ended. The room was basic: the bed was made and had two pillows, there was a folding chair where I assume a lounging couch should be, and it had a microwave and a mini fridge with a freezer. The surfaces looked pretty clean. The toilet seat wasn’t clean, the showerhead was held together with duct tape, and there was a soap packet that looked chewed open. Keep that in mind. When I got into bed, it felt like there was sand at my feet, and the sheets smelled like stale Febreze. I went out to Tito's Pizza for a late dinner. When I came back and opened the door, I saw a mouse run under the wooden floorboard heater cover. I called the front desk right away, but they didn’t understand when I said there was a mouse in my room. The person told me, “I’ll clean it in the morning, good night.” A few minutes later, another woman called the room phone to ask what I meant. She didn’t understand until I said “rat” and “rodent.” I told her about the soap packet, and she said the packets are stored in the laundry room where mice can get to them. She apologized. It was too late to bother them for another room, and mice don’t bother me. My suitcases are hard plastic, so I wasn’t worried. It wasn’t a terrible stay overall, and I saw no signs of bed bugs, roaches, or ants. The problems were the dirty bed, taped showerhead, and dirty toilet and seat. Two stars.

I had a medical emergency and tried to cancel my booking through Hotels.com, but got no reply. When I called the motel, they said I had to cancel through the place I booked. They wouldn’t even hear the reason, and still charged me for the room. I thought the way I was treated was disgusting. I would never stay here or recommend it to anyone.
