Judy was excellent on the phone, answering all my questions about the facilities, area, parking, and where I could stay while hauling a very large boat from Alberta to Rupert. But when we arrived late, two miserable, disheveled managers greeted us. They seemed annoyed to be woken up, and apparently everything shuts down at 11 PM. The rates weren’t what I’d been quoted, and they didn’t want the truck and trailer there. Even with an empty lot and plenty of rooms, they wanted extra money for parking the truck, and more for the trailer. They were unpleasant throughout. The place was a wreck and smelled worse than sewage treatment plants I’ve been in. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. They didn’t seem to care whether they rented rooms, and I hope the next manager cares about the job and the people visiting the area.

The staff were nice and everything was very clean, though there are lots of rules. It doesn’t feel like a typical hotel anymore, more like a regimented place for low-income residents and elders.

Everything felt outdated, and the rooms weren’t comfortable. There’s no carpet, so they can get pretty cold.
