Auberge Internationale de Québec - Hostel

A tip for winter visitors: don't haul luggage up the steep streets from the train station. Our family made it over the ice and snow without breaking a leg, but I'm not sure how. You'll thank yourself for paying for a taxi or uber. We visited in the quiet winter season, so there were only a handful of other people and we had the place mostly to ourselves. The staff and common spaces were great. Just know that the clothes dryers are very old and ineffective. We spent $12CAD and our family's washload was still nowhere near dry, so we hung the clothes in our room and ended up with ice on the inside of the windows.

We went in the shoulder seasons, so can't say what it's like when things are busy. The rooms were quiet, comfortable, and well insulated, and the floors were quiet too. The hostel was spotless, nicely furnished, and had lots of amenities. The kitchen was well equipped and organized, and breakfast was basic but good. Staff were friendly, and it's within walking distance of several sightseeing spots, places to eat, and coffee shops. I'd definitely recommend it and can't wait to return.

My friend and I spent 2 nights at the hostel and had a very good stay. Its prime location made it easy to walk to shops, restaurants, bars, parking garages, and attractions. The continental breakfast was good each morning, with fresh coffee, tea, and fruit. Bathrooms were clean and the water was nice and hot. The bedrooms could use a bit of TLC, though, and don't have AC if that matters to you. Rooms can get noisy at night. I'd still suggest this hostel because of where it is.

We stayed for 2 nights and really liked the location, with scenic spots just a few minutes away on foot. Everything in the hostel was super clean and well maintained, and the common areas were nice. Breakfast in the morning was the cherry on top. Staff were welcoming, helpful, and understanding. Highly recommend.
