Gables Motel

Host Tom was a highlight, friendly, helpful and funny. The room was clean, with a great bed and lovely blankets. The towels were heavy and good quality, and we had passes to the hot springs. At night he turned off the lights and left only the Christmas lights on, which made it easy to sleep. I’d recommend staying here and will come back.

The place was really clean and cozy, with a European cottage kind of vibe. The man and woman at the front desk were both friendly and respectful. The top-floor room doors are at the back where you drive up, which is a cool setup. There’s a lovely gazebo with comfortable chairs in the back. Some things are old, but it’s still great value for the money. The lobby has nice taxidermy animals, and they sell snacks and drinks there.

After a week on the road through South AB and BC, staying at big hotels, it was refreshing to get such a personal welcome from this motel’s Canadian owner and operator. It felt like staying at a friend’s place. Other hotels kept asking us to leave a review, but this is the only one I’m writing about. Good job on every count, Tom and y’all.

The staff were very polite and friendly. It has the basics, which was more than enough for one night, and for the price I think it deserves five stars.
