Beach Street Inn

A lovely vacation day: after hiking and exploring Fundy Trail, we sat in rocking chairs on the porch with beer and flatbread brought out to us. The food at Periwinkles was fantastic, too. Beth and Paul are wonderful hosts, full of helpful suggestions and clearly fond of St Martins. The inn itself has a charming old-world feel, beautifully decorated with modern comforts.

We made a last-minute change to our plans and stayed in St Martin, and the owners were very accommodating. From the inn, it’s an easy walk to the beach, and there are plenty of outdoor places to sit. Our room, the Bradshaw Room, was quiet, spotless, and roomy enough for our travel crib. We had our baby with us, so that extra space helped. At breakfast, the owners and staff sat with us, chatted about things to see, and gave us directions. We took their advice and had a great time at the Sea Caves and Fundy Trail Provincial Park. Samantha and Paul were around whenever we needed help or had questions about the area.

The soft mattress was the one drawback, and it may be due for replacement. Our room was very clean and had clearly been recently updated in a current style. The staff were kind and made an effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was delicious and included in the room price. It’s well located along the Bay of Fundy trail, with a good restaurant for dinner.

We stayed in the third-floor Skillen room for the weekend. It was tidy and quaint, and the inn is lovely, cozy, and especially pretty at night with its twinkle lights. The beach is just a short walk away. The owners were lovely and helpful. Both dinner and breakfast tasted great, though our 6 p.m. reservation turned into a 7:30 p.m. wait for the food. The sheets felt quite rough, and the air conditioner was extremely loud. A fan to move the air would have been quieter and more consistent.
