Comfort Inn Sudbury

At 1:30 in the morning, my partner and I were still tossing and turning in the hot, muggy room. I went down to ask for a fan or another room, since the AC clearly wasn’t working, but the front desk said there was no fan and no rooms available. When I asked what could be done, he checked the computer and said nobody had reported that room’s AC broken before, so nothing could be done. I asked for a refund and he refused. The next morning, a statement showing the full hotel charge had been slid under the door, with no apology. I will never stay here again. We’d driven about 12 hours and only wanted to sleep before continuing early the next day. The room was on the 2nd floor and the AC didn’t work. Around 10:30, the front desk came to look at it and said to switch the dial from cold to hot and back to cold to “reset it.” It ran for about 2 minutes, then stopped. Trying the same thing again had the same result, and I couldn’t get up every 2 minutes to cool the room. I tried to tough it out, but it was a terrible night. Extreme lack of customer service and customer satisfaction.

The rooms are clean, and the front desk staff are welcoming and friendly. They were accommodating and understanding about medical needs, which I appreciated. There always seem to be rowdy guests slamming doors, but thankfully we were tired enough to get to sleep. I definitely recommend the Comfort Inn for convenience.

I never even got to stay. I was driving alone for business from Toronto to the gold mine in gogama, so I booked this hotel on the road. At the front desk, the guy played games and said my card hadn’t gone through for the deposit, even though nothing was wrong with it. He wouldn’t even offer to take cash as a deposit, and I had to pay more to stay somewhere else. My husband called head office, and I’ll be getting my refund as well as a free night. Who sends a single woman away at night from a room that’s already paid for? The front desk guy is useless. Don’t bother with this place, especially if you’re arriving after 9 pm. This place needs a compliance visit!

Breakfast was excellent, and the person looking after it paid attention to the details. The first night, the bed was comfortable and breakfast had a good choice. On the 2 night, though, the bed was awful, seemed smashed in, and I mentioned it to the front desk.
