The location worked well, close to Old Toronto and lots of popular spots. Beds and pillows could use an upgrade, and the shared kitchen was missing basic cooking items. Our basement room got noisy when other guests were up, but it was manageable for a few days. We asked for a heater and got one, even though the house already has one.
The room had new furniture after a renovation, and the bed was comfortable. But it was really cold, there was no shower curtain, and I found lots of hair on both the bed and bathtub.

There’s no front desk, so you can’t leave your bags there. If you need luggage storage, the Intercontinental Hotel near Union Station is an option. The place is near Chinatown, with lots of spots to eat and drink. Check-in is self-service and the timing is fairly flexible. The room itself is basic, just a bed, bathroom and toilet, towels, shampoo, and shower gel, but it was quite clean. For Toronto, the price is on the cheap side.
