Our first night at Sandman Hotel was comfortable and pleasant. The beds were cozy, the room felt clean, and we liked the location. We went shopping at Guildford Town Centre the next morning, and when we got back my 10-year-old daughter noticed her wallet was missing from the room. It had $200 in it, money she'd saved from birthdays and special occasions. The money was gone. We left the room tidy, as I usually do, and didn't put out the “refresh room” sign because we didn't need housekeeping. But someone had clearly been inside. The beds hadn't been made, there were just two towels and no floor towels, and some things had been moved. Management said there'd been an “error” with the room being cleaned and that a “personal item was on the bed,” so it wasn't made. There was nothing on the bed when we left. Their response felt dismissive, like the concern wasn't being taken seriously. The location is great, and my kids really did enjoy the stay, but my daughter left very disappointed. The hardest part was hearing her say, “Maybe whoever took it needed it more than me.” No child should have to learn that on a trip that was meant to be fun. I hope the hotel reviews its housekeeping and security procedures so this doesn't happen to another family.

Lisa (GM) has been so helpful with anything I've needed during my stay, and Aman, Christian, Sunday, and Rachel at the front desk are always great to talk to. The staff and general manager are the best part of this hotel. Rooms are clean and well maintained, and the showers are awesome. The location works well too, with easy highway access and restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance.

The rooms were clean, nice, and well kept, and staff were easy to reach whenever I needed help. Aman greeted me both days with a smile and a professional manner. When I'm traveling for work, I tend to choose Sandman hotels because they keep meeting the standard I've come to expect and appreciate.

Aman at the front desk was approachable and very friendly, and the whole staff made us feel welcome. Tetiana cleaned the room, which was spotless and just right. Everything was very clean throughout, and the service was wonderful. Five stars all the way.
