Best Western Glengarry Hotel

Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with a complimentary restaurant buffet and a chef making omelets to order. We also enjoyed the clean, well-kept pool, which wasn't overchlorinated. The beds were the most comfortable of our trip, and the room temperature was just right even in late fall. Rooms in the main building were roomy and very clean, and the staff were lovely. I only stayed one night, but would gladly come back for longer.

We spent several days here, heading out around nova Scotia each day and sleeping well before planning the next adventure over a perfect morning omelet. The staff are so nice. I talk this place up all the time and can't wait to come back!

Stayers beware. The hotel didn't mention on its webpage or when we called ahead that the pool and restaurant were unavailable during renovations. Other families there said they felt misled too. They had a chance to tell customers those advertised services weren't available, but still charged full price. That came across as disrespectful, unprofessional, and dishonest. We also found a loose fake eyelash on a towel in our room. Along with the lack of notice, that left us unsure whether the room had been cleaned after the previous guest. If I were in corporate management, I'd look into this location.

The free breakfast omelets were freshly made and amazing, and the front desk staff were very friendly. But I would never stay here again. Both rooms we used at the end of November left us with bed bug bites. The hotel had a third party test the room, though the confirmation they showed listed many other rooms tested too. The report said all rooms were negative. Seeing that many rooms included made me think other guests may also have complained. The negative test means I can't do anything to help future guests, but I can say with 100% confidence, and I never write reviews, that this was the only place we could have gotten the bites. They appeared 24 hours later. I haven't had them since, and hadn't stayed anywhere else in the previous six months.
