Stonehouse Motel and Restaurant

We stayed just one night, and it wasn't good. The bathroom was cramped: while sitting on the toilet my chin was at the sink, and shifting sideways meant bumping the bathtub. There was only one nightstand, so my husband had to use a flashlight to get to the washroom at night. The table lamp had a loose connection and needed a little tap to switch on or off. For the room price, this wasn't good at all. Wouldn't stay again.

The smell was awful, and the whole place had a dirty feel. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone; you can surely find somewhere better. The furniture was disgustingly old and discolored, and so sticky I couldn't put anything on it. At least there was laminate flooring, since I'm usually wary of carpet. The room price didn't match the quality, and the washrooms don't even lock. Mosquitoes and other insects came in through the door, though I guess that may be hard to prevent. Halfway through my stay, only my room lost power, apparently because of using the microwave. If a microwave can trip the room's power, why have it installed?

I checked out about 15 minutes after getting in. The check-in itself took 45 minutes and was quite a hassle. The room was very dirty and had bed bugs like crazy, and the door looked as if it had been kicked in, so I felt unsafe. They kept my $100 deposit even though I barely stayed 15 minutes. I told the front desk about the bed bugs when I checked out, and they just shrugged. If I could give zero stars, I would. Don't stay here, sleep in your car. It'd be cleaner and safer.

The room setup surprised me: there was just one nightstand and no microwave or coffee maker. We had to go to the bar for ice, and bring our own instant coffee. The operator did find a kettle for us, and the room was clean. If you want something cheap with no extras, at least it's clean and the operator was helpful.
