Texada Island Inn

Everyone was so kind and down to earth, and that made my stay feel much warmer. Texada really does have places like this, even though I was starting to think they didn’t exist anymore. It’s one of the most beautiful, peaceful, relaxing places on earth. Thanks to everyone, from Joelle & Little Lily.

The gift shop by the entrance has one of a kind pieces, all handmade by local artists, and the prices are very reasonable. We loved the food too, especially the curly fries, though everything we ordered was just right. My family and I had anchored in Sturt Bay and walked 15 minutes from the public dock to the pub. We arrived just as they were closing, but they stayed open to serve us dinner. Such welcoming, happy people, and the place has a rare, friendly family feel. If you get the chance to go, you won’t be disappointed.

The ling cod was outstanding, and the curly fries went perfectly with it. We had a pleasant patio meal with delicious food and friendly, efficient service. We’ll come back next time we anchor in Sturt Bay. Congrats to the new owners for getting off to a great start.

We were moved to a table at the very edge of the patio, where it was so hot we rushed through the meal just to get out of the sun. Nobody checked on us or brought the bill, so I went inside to pay. The server said she’d be right out, but it took about ten minutes. Meanwhile, the couple with a dog were still there the whole time, and the dog was running around without anyone saying a word. When we first arrived, we’d seen them eating with their dog on the patio, so our family sat there with our dog too. After we ordered, another server came over five minutes later and said dogs weren’t allowed and we had to move to the outermost tables. I asked why the other couple could stay, and she said she hadn’t noticed them. That was hard to believe when they were nearly finished eating. I could understand a no dogs rule if it had been posted, but being treated differently like that was disgusting.
