Lake Haven Beach Resort

We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay: fresh, clean towels and linens, thoughtful furnishings, and a great outdoor space with both covered and open-air seating facing the beach. The lake views and direct access to more than a mile of beach made the location especially nice. Niagara Falls was easy to get to, too.

Cottage #8 worked well for our group of eight, with two bedrooms and three beds. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom and kitchen had a decent amount of room, though the kitchen could use more storage. The open walk-in closet in our bedroom helped with that. There were plenty of dishes, glasses, utensils, towels, soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other basics, but bring your own spices and condiments. The A/C and ceiling fans were a real plus, and we made good use of the private patio and our BBQ. Free Wi-Fi and the easy self check-in were appreciated, and the kids liked having a TV to watch on a rainy day. We also enjoyed tossing bean bags by the beach and taking in that great lake view. The beach and water were lovely, and the palm trees added to the feel of the place. Paul answered our questions promptly and was very helpful. The housekeeper had left extra towels and linens, which we needed with eight people. We used the free wood for a beach fire, and one night we drove about 40 minutes to Niagara Falls for the boat cruise, which was memorable. We had a great week at this tucked-away spot and would happily return.

Cottage 4 was spotless when we arrived and had what we needed to keep the family entertained and comfortable. The kids especially loved the beach campfires, and it was an easy walk along the beach to get ice cream. The beach is just steps away, and everyone we met was kind and friendly. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return.

The kids are already asking when we can come back, and I can see why. This place even had a couple of guitars for guests in the garden and a bean bag toss game. I loved the beachy cabins, each with its own patio and barbecue, as well as the roomy shared patio and Muskoka chairs. Mornings with coffee and evenings with a book were lovely with the waves right there. The sandy beach is just down the stairs, where there's also a fire pit with wood provided. I brought beach towels but didn't need them, since plenty were supplied. You mainly need to pack food and toiletries. Port Colborne is about 15 minutes away for groceries and restaurants, and Niagara Falls and Fort Erie are around 40 minutes away. There's a smart TV but no cable. That mattered when we wanted to watch the Euro, so we went to Chucks Roadhouse in Welland for the games. I've always enjoyed vacationing in this area because there aren't as many bugs as farther north. What a lovely getaway, highly recommended!
