Port Motel

For a low-budget motel, the place was fairly clean, the bed was comfortable, and both the mini fridge and microwave worked well. The shower could have been cleaner, or the caulking could use an update. The bathroom exhaust fan didn't work, and it had no cover on the ceiling. The heat lamp was broken too. What else do you expect at this price?

The area was quiet and felt safe, and I liked being able to park right outside the room. There's a Tim Hortons not too far away, and I noticed outdoor dining areas for families when the weather's nice. We were there with my husband and two younger siblings in a room with two double beds. It was a good size, with a roomy bathroom, a Keurig, microwave, and mini-fridge. The beds were more comfortable than at an average motel, and the front desk gave us extra towels without any fuss. My husband is a big guy and needs more than one towel. The one problem was the in-room A/C. Its sensor seemed to think the room was cool enough and shut off while it was still warm. It also blew humid air, leaving the room unpleasantly damp after our nightly showers. That might only be uncomfortable for some people, but I have a disability that makes it hard for my body to regulate temperature, so working climate control is important to me. I wouldn't come back in summer.

It's a clean, affordable, reliable place to sleep on a road trip, and the A/C worked well. For the price, everything was fine. If you want the Hilton, spend $400, but don't expect a much cheaper room to match it. It is what it is.

My partner and I stayed overnight, hoping it wouldn't be too bad, but the motel was filthy. In the first room, I saw blood and spit on the bedding, walls, and furniture. We called to report it, and he moved us to another room, which was gross too. I think the motel is full of infectious diseases. It should be torn down and rebuilt.
