Crandell Mountain Lodge

Deer hang around the building, and you might spot them outside your window in the morning. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was spacious, clean and comfortable after long days of hiking. We had a lovely three-night stay. The location is amazing, with a short walk to just about anywhere. Bear's Hump and Prince of Wales Hotel are also pretty quick to reach on foot.

We spent a couple of nights here last week and found it cozy, clean and comfortable. The lodge has a nice front porch where you can hang out and enjoy the weather. It sits at the first corner as you enter town, with convenient parking right out front. From there, shops, restaurants and the lakefront are all a very short walk away, so we left the car parked and explored on foot.

The photos on Expedia were very misleading. Our room was very old, had holes in the deck outside, no air conditioning, and didn’t have what we’d booked. We walked in and right back out, then went to the desk to say we didn’t want to stay. Taylor wouldn’t move us to another room and told us to contact Expedia for a refund or credit. She said she understood, but when Expedia later called Taylor at the property to approve the refund, she declined it. Do better, Taylor. I don’t recommend this property to anyone.

We could walk everywhere downtown from this perfect location. The room was comfortable and had lots of little niceties, though there’s no TV. The carpets are stained and need replacing. We told the front desk the door was giving us trouble, and hopefully they’ll sort it out. The shower curtain was nasty along the bottom, but the rest of the bathroom was clean.
