Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort

We were lucky to find a place at a reasonable price, having booked in November. The staff are very pleasant and accommodating. Our rooms are older, which is understandable, and I can see renovations and additions underway at the resort. There are very few hotels and restaurants open right now. I only know of one restaurant operating. Most places don't open until the first week of May.

Our second-floor room was clean and had very comfortable beds, a lovely mountain view, and an AC/heater unit that worked perfectly without much noise. The guest rooms are in separate buildings around the main lodge, whose exteriors have been updated and look fresh. The lobby was clean and nicely decorated, adding to the area's mountain charm. We visited Waterton over Thanksgiving weekend for a quiet, restful stay. Check-in was friendly and efficient, and the Lodge staff were helpful whenever we had questions. We look forward to returning.

We spent the afternoon at the lodge, though we didn't stay there. It's gorgeous and well worth seeing, with an elegant, open design and bellhops.

Everything is within walking distance because the town is so small, and I liked that the place stays open past October when many things shut down. The rooms are nice, and ours had a fantastic kitchen. Nothing fancy, but great for a national park.
