Waterton Glacier Suites

We had trouble with the TV in both rooms, and the couch wasn't comfortable, so we didn't enjoy the room. The next day, dead batteries in the door meant we were locked out. The whole stay felt below par. Since it was off season, we were told the hotel's restaurant was the only one open for supper and that we needed a reservation. We booked 6:30, but when we arrived we were the only people there. The food was subpar and very expensive, I suppose, though perhaps less so by resort town standards.

The renovated romantic suite was roomy and very nice, up on the top floor. We arrived just after 80% of Waterton's businesses had closed for winter on Sunday. We had planned to stay two nights but cut it to one. With nearly everything shut, I wish we hadn't paid $300 a night. We'll definitely return in spring when things open again.

The place was calm and quiet, and the desk manager was friendly and helpful. Our king bedroom suite was clean, nicely decorated, and had useful conveniences like charging stations, a microwave, espresso machine, and fridge. The bathroom was well stocked, too. We appreciated housekeeping stopping by to see if we needed anything.

The location is good for a small town, and the room itself was nice. But the air conditioner was extremely loud and barely cooled the room, a problem mentioned in earlier reviews. There aren't many alternatives in this area, but I'd stay somewhere else. I stayed 9/6 and 9/7 /25, and check-in was the worst service I've ever had. The clerk was on the phone about an issue with a customer, and he was the only one available. He repeatedly left the desk and came back, at least four times, stretching the wait to 15-20 minutes. Each time he returned, he apologized without sounding sincere, as if we weren't even there. Two people behind me had the same experience and also had to wait. Completely unprofessional. When he finally checked us in, he didn't offer a local map or restaurant suggestions. He just seemed to want us gone.
