Holiday Inn & Suites Windsor Ambassador Bridge by IHG

The staff were great, and the chef in the breakfast area was excellent. But sleeping matters, and room 601 was so noisy I was woken every 15 minutes until the last guest went to bed at 3 a.m. It’s called a suite and has two bathrooms, a separate bedroom and sitting room, and lots of space. Unfortunately, it sits beside three banks of elevators, and the bedroom opens onto the hallway. I’d never stay in that room again.

The front desk staff were the only ones who weren’t rude to guests. We had to chase the cleaning staff every day for fresh towels, and the rooms were cleaned only once in five days. When we asked, they greeted us with, “Are you not checking out today?” as if we were trying to steal towels. The pool and carpets were in poor condition, and the free breakfast option was confusing, with several limitations. The hotel appears to be a building more than 70 years old, crumbling, leaking, and breaking in places, despite the fancy pictures on multiple websites. Stay away and protect your money.

The location was convenient, with several restaurants along the road, and the staff were friendly when we arrived. But the pool was the whole reason I booked, so having it closed for maintenance during its listed open hours was really frustrating. We were told it would take an hour, came back after that, and were told to wait another hour. We finally got to swim after two hours. The room also had a slight sour smell, and the bathroom door came off when we opened it. They moved us upstairs, then we noticed the old room door could swing open from a hard push even while locked. A disappointing stay.

My daughter and I stayed at the hotel on Huron about a month ago, and we were surprised by how comfortable the beds were. The room rate was also much better than several other places I checked, which had quoted over $300. I'm looking forward to seeing all our family and friends. Thank you!
