Rodd Grand Yarmouth Hotel

On arrival, we were moved to the fifth floor, room 512. The room and beds were comfortable, but there's one thing management should look into: we could hear the noisy kitchen exhaust fan from our room. Try sleeping above one sometime, management. It's no fun.

The hotel is in a very central spot, and the staff were friendly. We used the pool and gym, and the restaurant and hotel bar both had great service. Our room was spacious and clean. There was construction outside during our stay, and signs apologized for any noise, but the upgrades already done and still underway look great. I hadn't stayed here in a while, and it was a great place to come back to.

We picked this hotel because we needed an early breakfast at 6:30 before leaving for the ferry. At 7, we were told the wait staff was on the way, but we couldn't wait any longer. The restaurant service was very slow, even though our waitress was friendly. They need more cooks and wait staff. The room was fine, and we enjoyed the pool.

Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, and the room was just right for us: clean, fresh-smelling, and tidy, with a little bar fridge, king-size bed, coffee maker, cable TV, and the usual bathroom amenities. I fell asleep soon after eating. The food was delicious, though I wish most restaurants would stop seasoning the home fries since not everyone likes that. We arrived needing a room at the last minute, and the staff were wonderful about helping us. The hotel restaurant was helpful too. At 2:30 in the afternoon, we were able to order breakfast, and both the server and cook were accommodating. We were heading home, but there's also an indoor pool and sauna that I would have liked to try.
