The room was small, and it got uncomfortably hot with no way to adjust the temperature. There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room, which feels like a significant omission at this price. The bathroom was modern and nicely finished. The location is a plus. Just off Klara, it’s well placed for exploring the city, and there are generally good parking options if you’re driving. I’d strongly recommend reserving a space directly under the hotel, as that’s by far the most convenient. For what I paid, it wasn’t good value. Check-in was poorly handled because there weren’t enough staff for the number of guests, causing unnecessary delays. The service at the desk was perfunctory, with no explanation of facilities or amenities, or even basic directions around the hotel. Arrival felt transactional, not welcoming. The property is well maintained and has real potential. With a meaningful investment in staffing and customer service, it could be a very good hotel, but right now it falls short.

The room had a lovely view overlooking three countries, and there’s a good gym. We also visited the rooftop bar, which is separate from the hotel. But the stay felt strange, and the value wasn’t there, so I probably wouldn’t return. The shower leaked all over the bathroom, there was no soap, and the walls were so thin that we heard a prost!tute next door making noise all weekend, morning and night. We had to ask reception for more coffee because none was brought to us. Parking under the hotel didn’t go well: the guy wouldn’t open the gate, then hung up when I called back. We eventually parked next door, which was very expensive but worked out fine. Check-in was incredibly slow, and the guy was super unfriendly.

My room was awesome, super quiet and very clean, so this is an easy five-star rating from me. It was my first time here, and next time I come to Basel I’ll book a room at this hotel again.

We were charged extra twice without being told about the additional charges before check-in, even though we confirmed the details in advance. We booked a double room and told them ahead of time there would be two people, but were still charged for the second person. The staff weren’t helpful and seemed quite clueless about the double charge. Just terrible.

I had to ask the front desk for a fan so I could sleep. The room got really hot, especially in winter, and there was no way to adjust the temperature. For a modern hotel, the room itself felt dated. It was okay, just not what we expected.
