Mövenpick Hotel Basel

I had a really relaxing stay while in town for work. The staff were lovely and listened when I asked to check in early. I slept and rested really well, and loved both the bathtub and the view. That's just what you need to unwind before and after work.

My favorite part was the location right beside Basel SBB train station. The rooms stayed remarkably quiet despite being so close, with soundproofing that worked well. They're sleek, with floor-to-ceiling windows and great city views on the higher floors. The hotel itself is strikingly modern, especially the sculptural staircase in the lobby. PURO served excellent food, and the classic Mövenpick chocolate treats are worth trying. The gym and spa are top-tier for an urban hotel. Kathrina, Victoria and Manolis deserve special thanks. I'd highly recommend this stylish, high-end stay for the transport links alone.

We didn't eat at the hotel, though other travelers told us the food was good. The evening chocolate event was much smaller than we expected from its advertisement and description. Still, we really loved the rooms: they were spacious, very clean, and comfortable, with city views from the high floor. The bathroom door was a plus, and check-in was easy with friendly staff. The shower had only a half barrier instead of a door or curtain, which was a little different. It's a five-minute walk from the train station. We'd stay here again.

The breakfast buffet was the nicest I've ever seen anywhere, with great quality and selection. The rates are reasonable, and the rooms are comfortable. It's a lovely place to stay in Basel, centrally located within walking distance of both the main train station and the marketplace. I'd definitely come back 💯⚠️
