Hotel Montana

We were a family of three staying for seven nights, and felt comfortable throughout. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile or some advice. It’s a very convenient spot, a few minutes from the main train station and close to Geneva lake, with easy access to the rest of the city. Breakfast was simple, fresh, and tasty. We had a really good stay and would choose it again on our next trip to Geneva.

We had a quiet room at the back, facing a residential street. Other rooms look toward the main street out front. The room was clean and tidy, and breakfast had a good quality selection. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a comfortable little hotel near the main station, with the city center an easy walk across the river. The free public transport card was useful for getting around locally.

The room was spotless, the bed very comfortable, and we liked being able to open the window for fresh Swiss air. Wi-Fi was blisteringly fast, too. The location is fantastic, and the free travel card for the city tax was a nice touch. Cheap and cheerful.

The location is the only reason I’d recommend this hotel. The rooms are extremely dated, the bathroom sink wouldn’t drain, and the toilet seat was broken. Worse, the mattress was broken and sloped badly on both sides. My husband and I kept rolling off during the night and got little to no sleep. When we told staff, they said all the beds were like that and suggested it was our fault because it was our “first night there”. If you want a comfortable stay, this isn’t the place.
