Chalet Alpharmonie

We live on Staldenstrasse in Zermatt and often meet tourists who are trying to find the Alpharmonie apartments. Tonight at 11 pm, while I was walking the dog, I came across some Asian tourists with huge suitcases who were lost and had no idea how to get there. Apparently, guests call the apartment for help and nobody answers. Alpharmonie, this is very poor service. Please explain to guests that it’s too far to walk with their suitcases: they need to take a taxi from the train station to the end of Wichjeweg, then walk from there. It may also be difficult in winter when there’s a lot of snow. Tourists, please check how to get there before you arrive in Zermatt. There’s a construction site on the road until November 2025, which makes it even harder.

The accommodations are comfortable and woodsy, and the view is excellent. The property faces the Matterhorn directly, with no lower properties blocking the sightline. Getting there can be a bit of a hike, though a local cab from the train station is an option. The short walk up to the property is worth it for the view. Just watch your head upstairs, since the sloping roof makes the ceiling quite low near the edges.

The incredible view and comfortable beds made this very nice apartment feel well worth the uphill walk. It’s about 15 minutes from the village center, so a bit out of the way, but the price was great. At night, you can even see deer playing.
